About Me
Catalina's Story
Hey there! I’m Catalina Castro—a licensed esthetician, skincare lover, and your go-to girl for all things glow. Originally from Northern Virginia, I made my way to Bluffton, SC with my husband (shoutout to the Marine life!) and brought my passion for skincare along with me.
What started as a playful obsession with serums and self-care turned into a full-blown love affair with skin. In 2020, I decided to go all in—enrolled in one of South Carolina’s top esthetics programs, got licensed, and opened my dream studio right here in the heart of Bluffton.
Now, I get to help amazing people like you feel confident, radiant, and totally seen. Whether it’s your first wax or your new favorite facial, I’m here to make you feel at home in your own skin—with a little sparkle and a lot of care.

Once per month is also the ideal time frame because our skin cell turnover cycle is 28 days long. There are exceptions to that rule, though, so it’s always best to follow the protocol recommended by your esthetician.
In short, YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES – don’t skimp on the sun protection even if it’s cloudy outside. Products containing a minimum of SPF 15 help decrease the harmful aging effects of the sun, like wrinkles, fine lines, freckles (though cute on some people) and skin discoloration. After a long day outside your face could use some help replenishing any lost moisture and nutrients. Be sure to cleanse and apply your serum and moisturizer to help to hydrate the skin, aid skin cell renewal and protect from free radicals induced by UV exposure.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but our collagen and elastin production starts to slow in our early twenties (and these are the building blocks of young, bouncy, skin). On top of that, our cells don’t regenerate as quickly either. So, it makes sense to add anti-aging products and exfoliators into your routine in your twenties to keep your complexion looking plump and glowing.
We’d all love to see those skin-boosting results yesterday, but most products take time to work. Cleansers and face mask will give you instant results, but any products that promise anti-aging or skin-clearing benefits, particularly serums and eye creams, should be used for at least 28 days. That’s the amount of time it takes for your skin to go through a renewal cycle and for you to see a difference.
Typically, skin is classified in just a few categories, including normal, oily, dry, and sensitive. If you have combination skin, it means your skin is one type in one area and another type in another area (oily around your T-zone but normal everywhere else, for instance). Your skin type can change over time and can also be affected by factors such as hormones, medications, and diet. To get a good idea of what your skin type might be, wash it gently and leave it product-free for several hours before examining it closely to observe different areas.
